Tromsø is Northern Norway's largest city with approx. 70.000 inhabitants, located around Tromsøya, Tromsdalen and Kvaløysletta. Tromsø combines beautiful and spectacular nature and surroundings the the urban, and with all the city's restaurants, cafes, festivals and rich cultural life, Tromsø is widely known as the "Paris of the North". All year round!!! As famous author Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson wrote home to his wife when he visited Tromsø around 1900: "Little sleep, only champagne and fun". There is something to do in Tromsø for everyone, at all times of the year, whether you are working, studying or visiting the city as a tourist. And if you want to see the Northern Lights, Tromsø is perhaps the best place in the world see the the amazing Aurora Borealis.

Are you flying to Tromsø?
Tromsø airport is located on Tromsøya. If you take the airport bus (Flybuss) or taxi, it takes about 10 minutes to the city centre. There are also regular buses to the city centre from the airport. Click here for more information about routes and timetables.
